This image was a colossal effort. It's actual size is about 5200 pixels wide by 11300 pixels tall, which at 100ppi, is about 4.3 feet wide by 9.5 feet tall. The entire thing was laboriously hand-painted stroke by stroke in photoshop, and a bump map was then made before rendering it in 3DSMax.
