Configuring Windows NT Dial-Up Networking

Double-click on My Computer | Dial-Up Networking

The first step is to create a phone book entry by selecting New…

Name the new phonebook entry NetLink. and click Next.

Check the box "I am calling the Internet" (see fig.1) and click Next.

Now select the modem to use and click Next.

Enter your local access number and click Next.

Select Finish to end the initial setup.

In order to configure the dialer correctly you must now edit the phonebook settings. Choose More | Edit entry and modem properties… (see fig. 2)

Select Server and change the entries to match figure 3.

Next, click on the TCP/IP Settings button and enter the information provided in figure 4.

Click OK to bring you back to Server settings, then select Script.

Choose "None" and remember to blank out the domain field on the login dialog box.

Select Security and check Accept any authentication including clear text (see fig.6)

You have now finished setting up and are ready to dial. Click OK and then, from the Phonebook entry box click on Dial.

Enter your username and your password (as in figure 7) before clicking OK. Leave Domain blank (very important).
